Which is More Believable – Chemtrails or Contrails?
Welcome to another episode of Believing the Bizarre. This week, we tackle a very popular theory – chemtrails. Or, as they are known as in the scientific community, contrails.
Environmentalists claim these smokey streaks we see behind planes in the sky are simply water vapor that turns into ice droplets – mixed with carbon dioxide and minimal sulfur from the plane’s engine. However, many believe that these streaks are the cause of illness, population control, weather manipulation, and even mind control!
But, how do the facts stack up? Listen now.
What is up Bizarros?
Summer is officially upon us. It’s the season of laying out on a blanket, catching some rays, and enjoying that fresh summer air. As you’re laying on the blanket enjoying these lazy summer days you see a jet passing by overhead.
What’s that behind it? A water vapor trail left behind the jet, or is it something more nefarious? Is it chemical warfare?
Or a way for the government to control its people?
This week we dive into the believability of chemtrails.
What is the difference between chemtrails and contrails?
First widely reported in 1998, jet-dispersed aerosols now daily fill our skies as part of a worldwide weather modification program. But what are they? Are they chemtrails or contrails, and what is the difference?
Contrail, not to be confused with the cinematic classic Con Air starring Nicholas Cage, is short for condensation trail. These are streaks of condensed water vapor created in the air at high altitudes by airplanes.
As you can imagine, the engines and exhausts of planes are incredibly hot. They produce carbon dioxide and sulfur compounds mixed with water vapor.
When they get released from the plane, they end up in a very very cold atmosphere.
This leads to the water vapor turning droplets and ice crystals that turn into contrails.
If it’s a humid atmosphere, the contrails may last for a few hours and even spread out.
If it’s a dry atmosphere the contrails tend to disappear fairly rapidly.
What are Chemtrails?
Chemtrail is short for Chemical trail.
The belief is that either the government, a secret society, or a random third party, possibly the lizard people living in hollow earth, is utilizing planes to distribute a toxic chemical into the atmosphere.
Again, we are talking about the streams of clouds behind jets.
Reasons why this strikes certain people as unusual, which we will get to later, is:
-claiming decades prior had bluer skies
-unnatural clouds
-strange weather patterns
-longer lasting contrails
-harm to crops and collection of unexplainable toxins
-believing that water vapor should dissipate more quickly
This conspiracy really started getting its legs in the 1990s when it was reported that the government was testing weather modification.
That leads us to the question, what exactly would the purpose of chemtrails be?
The theories range from weather modification to human population control, chemical warfare, solar radiation management, and apparently even mind control.
What is the goal of Chemtrails?
As noted above there could be a number of reasons that chemtrails could be a useful tool that keeps the groups in power and the masses like us under their heel.
If the secret society or government behind chemtrails has a stake in pharmaceuticals, they profit best by keeping people sick.
This kind of plays into the idea that the cure for cancer may exist, but that wouldn’t be that profitable, now would it?
Even if it could be spun for good intentions, such as population control keeps Earth’s resources around longer – it would still likely be damaging Earth’s forests, plants, or crops.
Keep in mind, this is not a conspiracy theory specific to the United States, either. This would be a global conspiracy.
I say keep in mind, because naturally you may think about how shady the United States government could be – but for this to truly succeed it would have to be accepted by most nations across the world.
Long dubbed “chemtrails” by observers (and in more recent years “geoengineering”), the aerosols are thought to be a brew of aluminum and heavy metal oxides harmful to the environment and human health when inhaled.
That’s because one of its core design features is to stop normal clouds from condensing into precipitation. This chemical manipulation is visible whenever you see what look like contrails in a tic-tac-toe formation across the sky.
The contrails start spreading outward, eventually becoming a smokelike haze shrouding out the sunlight. It’s also possible to detect the aerosols in storm systems whose clouds appear to be dissolving into wisps of cotton candy as they cross overhead.
In either case, the end game of the spray campaign is to produce an enormous sea of vapor that’s corralled in the atmosphere. This veritable water reservoir is then diverted to some far-flung location – typically the midwest or southern states – using other weather modification tools.
And when this reservoir finally does turn to rain, it’s often not your typical weather system.
Over the past twenty years, ark-like deluges, freak hail storms, “snowmageddons” and mile-wide tornadoes have become commonplace events reported on the evening news.
In most cases, when the onboard concoction makes contact with the air, the metals oxidize, generating nano-sized particulates that can remain aloft in the sky for up to 20 hours.
Chemtrails are initially distinguishable by their elongated formations or grid-like pattern in the sky. However, as the particulates spread out, these formations become either wispy fragments of artificial cirrus, or a smog-like murky haze.
Other indications of spraying include small rainbow-like halos appearing in the clouds, the absence of morning dew, and radio signal interference.”
This all sounds like nonsense right? Other than bombs, and plane crashes, planes haven’t been used to control or harm people right? Right?
Not exactly.
How have planes been used to affect the population of a people?
There are numerous examples throughout recent history where planes have been used to do some heinous things.
In the Vietnam War planes dropped the herbicide Agent Orange, to destroy the enemy’s crops, however, as we now know, those exposed to this herbicide have had increase cases of various types of cancers.
Granted these were low flying planes, not like commercial airliners, but it’s one example of how planes have been used to negatively affect a population of people.
Another example of how planes can cause large-scale effects is cloud seeding.
Cloud seeding attempts to change the amount of precipitation from a cloud by dispersing substances into the air that can affect the processes in the cloud that can alter the precipitation amount from the cloud.
The most common chemicals that are used include silver iodide, potassium iodide, and dry ice. Apparently table salt is becoming more popular, as well.
So we have actual examples of how planes are causing changes to the weather and have caused serious medical conditions in people.
Are chemtrails really that far of a stretch?
What do you think Bizarros? Is it Chemtrails or Contrails? If it is Chemtrails, who is controlling it?
