The Kecksburg UFO Incident
On December 9, 1965, a brilliant fireball was seen across at least six U.S. states and Ontario before reportedly crashing into a wooded ravine near Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, where volunteer firemen found a large, seamless, acorn-shaped metal object with a hieroglyph-like ring around its base.
Within hours, military personnel sealed off the area, turned the local fire station into a command post, and were seen hauling away a tarp-covered object on a flatbed truck, yet the Air Force officially declared that nothing was found and blamed a meteor.
Investigations since then have uncovered strange gaps in the paper trail, including a radar squadron’s blank log for that date, unusually high-level federal interest, and NASA’s admission that two boxes of Kecksburg records went missing after it floated, then backed away from, a Soviet satellite explanation.
Theories range from a meteor or space debris to a classified U.S. re-entry vehicle, the Nazi “Die Glocke,” or an extraterrestrial craft, and sixty years later the eyewitnesses still dispute the official story.
