Listener Submission Collection: Vol. 1 | Ep. 66

Welcome to another episode of Believing the Bizarre. This week, we are mixing it up! As you know, every couple of weeks we put out an episode that is a Listener Submission – essentially an episode dedicated to a listener’s personal paranormal encounter.

However, every now and then we receive a submission that is shorter and cannot fill a full episode. We feel these episodes deserve their time in the limelight, too. So, welcome to the beginning of our Listener Submission Collections!

This week, we have three episodes that range from cave-dwelling creatures and UFOs to a ghost investigation gone wrong. But, how #believable are they? Listen now!

*Also – you may or may not be finally getting some of Tyler and Charlie’s personal paranormal encounters in this episode…

Brief Encounters Of The Paranormal Kind

What’s up Bizarros?

This week we have several short stories from our wonderful listeners.  So buckle up as we head into these paranormal stories that will have your heart racing and palms sweating.

1. The Cave

When Dwayne was 13 his school went on a wetland field trip. It started out like any other field trip he had been on. Until they were able to go look around the area by themselves.

Dwayne and his friend went to go check out this cave. They went in but didn’t realize how dark it would be.

Nothing too creepy happened at first, so they kept on going until there was this large boom at the end of the cave and freaked Dwayne out but his friend wanted to keep on going a little bit more.

So they did and it was a bad idea because they saw a human-like creature.

It was pale, had sharp claws and was eating something. As soon as the pair laid eyes on it they began to back away. But Dwayne accidentally stepped on a stick.

The creature turned its head and looked at them and screeched. It was a high-pitched whistle. They ran out of the cave as fast as they could.

When they got out they realized it was about time to leave so they met up with their class and never told anyone else about it.

2. The Night Visitors

Taylor woke up feeling numb..not able to move and staring out her window.

She had her boyfriend on the phone (he was asleep). As she’s staring out her window she saw a fast-moving shadow with lights around it.

She closed her eyes tight hoping what she saw was due to her exhaustion.  Still sleep evaded Taylor and she continued to stare out the window.

The shadow passed by again.  Taylor got up and woke up her grandma.

“Nana wake up!  There are aliens outside!” Taylor exclaimed.

Nana came into her room and watched with Taylor, but nothing happened.  No shadow. No lights.

Grandma went back to her room.  Taylor fell back on her bed, dejected.  As she stared back out into the night sky through her window she saw not one, but two lights dance through the sky.

“They’re going to get me!  Help!” Taylor yelled as she ran back into her grandma’s room.

Grandma came back into Taylor’s room telling her that it would be okay and that she’d keep her safe no matter what.

At 6:30 am Taylor had to get ready for school, but couldn’t stop thinking about the events of that night.

What if this is a simulation? What if they get me?

Oddly this was the only time that Taylor saw the shadow and the lights.

3. Yellow Eyes.

Two years ago Ethan became interested in the paranormal.  From binge-watching Ghost Adventures to watching every ghost movie that he found interesting his passion for the paranormal was boundless.

In 2016 he thought it was a good idea to start investigating the paranormal himself. Ethan began buying beginner-level equipment. From an SB7 spirit box, a digital recorder, and an EMF detector which he found on Amazon.  He was even lucky enough to have a friend lend him a GoPro camera. However, the only way he could convince him to lend him the camera was to allow him and another friend to come with him on an investigation.

They started at a forest that used to be home to an asylum. It was their usual go-to spot for paranormal activity.

They caught the usual evidence, creepy E.V.P.’s, orbs, and the occasional death echo. This was all weird, but it wasn’t the experience they had that would forever change their view of the paranormal.

There is a cemetery in his town that is located right next to a hospital.  On July 4th, 2016, it was a calm and still night.

Ethan and his friends arrived and begin to venture into the unfamiliar and unknown. They walked up to the highest point and set up their tech.

Ethan was sitting on a stone wall and brought out his digital recorder.  He started asking questions like:

“If anyone is there can you make your presence known?”

“If someone is there please say something?”

After five minutes Ethan had no responses.  Then he asked:

“If any present spirits could move the flags posted on the gravestones.”

Suddenly one of the flags started billowing roughly, but there was no breeze.  It was still a calm night.

The group decided to change positions and head to the older portion of the cemetery.  As they were approaching it they heard a loud BANG right next to them.

Ethan paused his GoPro so he could get his EMF detector out.

“Keep recording,” Ethan told his friend, holding the digital recorder.

As he is reaching in his bag they hear a

<GROOOOOWWWWLL>

The hairs on the back of his neck were standing on end.  The entire group froze.

They then began sprinting to Ethan’s car. As they were running Ethan looked back.

A dark figure with piercing yellow eyes was staring at the group as they got into the car and drove off for safety.

There you have it, Bizarros.  Three brief, but creepy encounters with the paranormal.  As we all know, paranormal events do not have to be long-lasting or repeated to leave an imprint on the rest of our lives.
